I have written for a number of years as a way of managing my personal demons, always keeping my musings to myself.
That changed some time ago when I decided to openly blog about my depression. To be honest I didn't really think anybody would read what I had to say, it just helped me to keep a lid on my darker thoughts.
However those people who did read my posts were able to have a normal conversation with me about mental health as a result. That's when I thought there would be something useful in pursuing this passion further.
A little time later my book The Noisy Mind emerged as a way to write up my experience and help others with their own mental health. The book has become a way for me to talk openly about mental health and encourage others to do the same.
